Little Gargoyle Ltd, home of After Dark Murder Mystery Events and Funcast Character Company, is opening its doors to new performers. We are looking for capable, confident and versatile actors to join our team across a range of interactive theatre, character entertainment and performance projects.
 

We warmly invite applications from actors aged 18 and over, from all backgrounds and levels of experience. Whether you are an established performer or looking to gain more professional experience, we would be delighted to hear from you.
 

How to Apply

The first step is to complete our online audition application form.

We will review each application and contact suitable applicants with details of the next stage. 
 

Our Audition Process

Our auditions now take place through a flexible, three stage process:
 

1. Online Application

Complete our audition form with some information about yourself and your performance experience.
 

2. Self-Tape Audition

Successful applicants will be invited to submit a short self-tape.

We will provide everything you need for this stage, including script extracts, character information and guidance on what we would like to see. We are not expecting elaborate filming or editing. Just a clear recording that allows us to see and hear your performance is all we need.
 

3. Meeting the Team

Actors who are successful at the self-tape stage will be invited to meet with members of the Little Gargoyle management team.

This will be an informal opportunity to learn more about the company, ask questions and explore some script and character work together. We want to get a sense of how you approach a character, respond to direction and work as part of a team, but we also want you to decide whether our company feels like the right fit for you.
 

This new process allows us to consider performers throughout the year, rather than asking actors to wait for a single scheduled audition day.
 

Location and Travel

Our office and rehearsal spaces are based in the Lancaster and Morecambe area.

We have found that performers living within approximately one hour of our base are best placed to take on regular work with us, particularly because rehearsals, workshops and company meetings are usually held locally.
 

For this reason, we are currently accepting applications from actors based within roughly one hour’s travel of Lancaster or Morecambe. If you live outside the immediate Lancaster and Morecambe area, access to your own vehicle and a full driving license will be essential.
 

Rehearsals and Workshops

Our work is highly interactive and requires performers to think on their feet, engage confidently with audiences and create larger-than-life characters. Actors joining the company may be invited to attend rehearsals and workshops before being considered for particular roles. These sessions help performers become familiar with our style of work and give everyone an opportunity to develop characters, improvisation skills and ensemble confidence.
 

Pay Rates

Pay rates can vary from project to project and may depend on the type of performance, location, production requirements and the individual agreement in place with the venue or client. We will provide example pay rates before you decide whether to continue with your audition application. Full performance details and payment information are always provided before we ask a performer to confirm their availability for an event.
